This free heart sampler square could be used for a variety of projects from an afghan to a potholder. She used worsted weight yarn and a size G hook. The square is crocheted with red and white yarn, but you could use any colors you have on hand.

You will need to download the PDF page to get this pattern and have Adobe Acrobat installed on your computer. The pattern uses DK weight yarn. In place of that you could use a light worsted weight. You'll also need a 3mm hook, a pair of 9 mm safety eyes, a yarn needle and stuffing. This looks like an easy project to complete.
If you want to crochet a mouse, this is a cute one. She wears a dress and has red and white striped legs. This is a standing toy. You will need 3 colors of worsted weight yarn and a size F, G and I crochet hook plus stuffing.
This is an extra nice pattern. You'll need Knit-Cro-Sheen, a size E and H hook and a size 6 steel crochet hook.
