Free Crochet Christmas Tree Ornament Patterns
98
Crochet ornaments will add color and beauty to a Christmas tree. All patterns offered on this page are free for you to print. A good idea is crocheting thread ornaments and you can have a Victorian tree this year. You could also choose some of the yarn ornaments to add some spice to the tree.
Here you'll find crocheted snowflakes, bears, bells, Christmas trees and more. The nice thing about crocheting Christmas ornaments is that most only need scraps of yarn. You can either buy the skeins of yarn and crochet lots of ornaments or use what you have left over from other projects. You'll find patterns that are for beginners and for more skilled crocheters here.
Just click on the blue titles and it will take you to the pattern pages.

Aunt Lydia's Rug yarn was used in this project, but I can't see why you couldn't just use scraps of red worsted weight yarn. This is a vintage pattern from 1952, but is easy to follow.

This is fantastic! I love to crochet little things like these. My son just got his first home so I am staring right now to get him some ornaments for his tree this year. As well as my own. Thanks for sharing. Voted all the way up for me.

This is so useful especially now close to the holidays. Thanks for the awesome hub!
This is a really nice collection! The pineapples were my favorite and I think I'll try to whip a few out before the holidays. Thanks for stirring up the crafty side of my personality!
Hi Barbara, I read another hub on crocheting, and I said I was going to get back into crocheting. Now I see your wonderful hub, and I am excited about the free patterns you have included some very nice ones. Thanks for sharing I am going to try one, I am going to start with the snowflakes. Thanks for sharing! Voted up!
you are welcome Barbara!
Nice post..Thanks
Barbara Kay,
My Mother would have loved this hub very much, she loved to crochet. I still have a big piece she gave me with the pineapple stitch, and all my aunts could crochet.
I can make rugs, but my love is writing.
But I admire the ones who can be still long enough to sew, crochet, and knit. I like making jewelry, that is as close as I can get to their talent.
Have a great Sunday,
Bobbi
My co-worker taught me how to do the basics of crochet last Sunday, and I was really thinking on how to make a snowman and even santa..hope i could follow the patterns for this would be my first time!

Looks like a lot of funn and an easy, fast project. So now I know what my family and I will be doing next weekend.
I'm so glad I came across your page! My kids and I love to make at least one new ornament a year for our tree and we've done many different kinds from paper to pasta. I was so stumped on what to do this year because I ran out of ideas. But alas! I found your page that has great ideas! Thank you, thank you!
Will definitely try this out with my niece and nephews. Nice and Useful. Thanks
Great hub and plenty of ideas for decorating. Thanks for sharing. :)
Nice Post :)
Excellent research - thank you!
I recently helped a friend get started with her first crochet project, but when she asked about snowflakes I had to encourage her to wait until next year when she's had more practice. If I'd seen this sooner, we might have found something I could walk her through step by step.
I'm looking forward to checking out each of those sites - free patterns are always useful, even if it's not right away!! (^_^)
Rated up/awesome
These would be great little projects to work on until spring and have tucked away for the 2012 holiday season!
I love doing projects with yarn! Thanks so much for posting this!
I can't wait for Christmas, I want to try some of these on my next tree. This makes for a different type of look and it kind of brings me back to the old days when my grandmother used to crochet everything, including our gifts...lol. It's all about the thought, she had a wonderful heart.
HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL MY FRIENDS NEW FRIENDS WELCOME
My niece has a crochet book. This would be the perfect hub for that book. Making your own ornaments for christmas is a thoughtful idea. Thank you.

Thank you for all your work in gathering the crochet projects together! Love to crochet!
Have you ever run across a pattern for a Juliet cap that just covers the crown of the head and has ties under the chin? My mother made one back in about 1976 and I have looked and looked for a pattern that is similar.
Thank you for the ideas Barbara! These are just what I was looking for!
This is good info thanks for taking the time to write this.
